During this 36-week program, students
will be guided through courses covering everything from
Dictatyping to Corporate Law to Conveyancing. Near the end
of the course, students will learn job search skills and
complete a practicum, which has proven to be a contributing
factor to the success of this program.
Previous
graduates have found employment in a variety of offices,
including law firms, court registries, government departments,
and private corporations. BC Work Futures includes Legal
Secretaries in the large Secretaries, Recorders, and Transcribers
occupational group, and is forecasting 6,710 job openings
within this group by 2008. The occupational group Paralegals
and Related Occupations, which includes Legal Assistants,
is predicted to have 1,950 job openings by 2008, due largely
to retirements.
